New Newcastle Airport hotel facing possible change of ownership

Posted on July 13th, 2009

The building of a 187 bedroom hotel at Newcastle Airport has hit the news recently with speculation that the owner of the new hotel may now be the Hilton Group. The hotel was due to open in June but there have been some problems which have seen the original operator, the Ramada Group, pull out as the builders of the hotel went into administration.

It will not now open until late in the summer and it is understood that the Hilton Group could be unveiled as the new operator shortly.

This could be an exciting piece of news for the Hilton Group as it looks to expand its portfolio in the North East with Newcastle Airport becoming a major hub for travel in the area. We will keep you posted with any news regarding this.
