Newcastle Airport adds to long-haul network

Posted on July 22nd, 2009

Newcastle Airport is now the international hub for the North East and is rapidly improving on its portfolio of destinations. It is really expanding its long-haul portfolio and has recently added 2 top destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean, both of which are becoming more and more popular for those seeking some exotic sun. The new destinations are Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Cancun in Mexico.

With the announcement of these new long-haul services the airport expects to increase its passenger numbers to the regional airport and with existing long-haul services to Orlando, Toronto and Dubai also proving more and more popular with travelers.

Chris Sanders, who is the head of Airline Relations and Development at Newcastle Airport is quoted as saying “Since last summer, Newcastle International Airport has worked harder than ever to develop its long-haul route network. We’re very pleased to announce even more scheduled flights to some beautiful destinations not just in Europe, but across the world.”

With this expansion of the destinations at Newcastle Airport more staff have been recruited to help with the 3.5 million passengers that are expected to pass through the airport between now and October. With the increase in passenger numbers it is becoming more important to pre-book your parking taking the hassle out of your travel. Pre-booking means you can arrive at the airport in relaxed mood saving money and time on the day of departure. At Newcastle Airport Parking UK we offer a great selection of car parks at the best prices so have a look and see how much you could save.

We also offer a great price on Newcastle Airport Lounges making your transition through the airport even more comfortable. Have a look and relax in style before travelling to your destination.
